Explore the beauty the Nashville waterways have to offer at your own pace with a kayak rental.

Half day and full day rentals are available. With free delivery to 2 Victory Avenue (near Nissan Stadium and the Pedestrian Bridge) and to Shelby Park or various locations within a 5 mile radius. Reservations preferred and same day rentals are possible depending on other factors like availability. 

Rentals are perfect if you’re after a more independent experience on the water. All equipment including kayaks, paddles, and lifevests will be provided. Check out our safety video below to ensure you are perfectly prepared to take this venture on your own.

1. Cumberland River

  • Driving Distance: The Cumberland River runs through Nashville with access points within the city or just a short drive away

  • Length: The Cumberland River stretches approximately 668 miles, but the portion around Nashville City is particularly popular for kayaking 

  • Accessibility for Beginners: The Cumberland can have varying currents depending on the section, so it’s advisable for beginners to stick to calmer areas or go with experienced paddlers

  • Public Launch Sites: Include Shelby Park, Riverfront Park, and Rock Harbor Marina. These offer convenient access points for kayakers looking to explore the river.

2. Percy Priest Lake 

  • Driving Distance: Percy Priest Lake is about a 20-30 minute drive from downtown Nashville, depending on the specific access point

  • Length: the lake spans 42 miles in length

  • Accessibility for Beginners: Percy Priest is generally calm and suitable for beginners, especially in areas away from boat traffic

  • Public Launch Sites: Including Anderson Road Recreational Area, Cook Recreation Area, and Seven Points Campground. These sites provide easy access for kayakers to enter the lake. 

3. Harpeth River 

  • Driving Distance: The Harpeth River is located about 30-40 minutes west of Nashville

  • Length: The Harpeth stretches approximately 125 miles, with various sections for kayaking 

  • Accessibility for Beginners: The Harpeth River offers sections suitable for beginners, with gentle currents and scenic surroundings

  • Public Launch Sites: Include Harpeth River State Park, Harris Street Bridge Access, and Highway 70 Canoe Access. These locations offer convenient entry points for kayakers to start their journey down the river.
